Amanda

Amanda has always been one of my favorite things. This post was meant for her birthday but I am a little late. She was my Christmas present 26 years ago.

She is smart, funny, beautiful and an all around good person. A harder worker you will not find. She knows what she wants and goes for it.

She is a fabulous mother of her own two boys. And as her mother I could not be more proud. I love you baby girl. Happy Birthday!

Oh and Danie, she is first because her birthday came first. You are next.

Out with the old and in with the new!

Back in 1996 this was one of my favorite things. And back then it was a mighty fine ride. It was bright and shiney and oh so good to me.

But then the government decided that it wanted to give me $4500.00 to trade it in for a newer more gas efficient vehicle. I had to think long and hard about this, for maybe a second or two, and I was then convinced that it would be a smart move to do something for the environment. God knows that I strive to live green. My research led me to this.

This my friends is my very own brand spanking new 2010 Prius! It's supposed to get 50 mile to the gallon. Yes you heard me right, it is the most full efficient car currently being sold. The instrument panel looks like a freaking space vehicle. Reminds me of the Jetsons. Tell me how do you like my new ride? I love it!!! Yah for me.

Camping and Jeans

Camping with my family, that is one of my favorite things. This trip was a little too wet for my taste but we still had fun.
This picture is of Grandpa.

These pictures are the kids, nothing better than sleeping babies, and them having fun.

And the rest of the gang.

And of course the jeans. These are my favorites but got retired after this trip.

Our love is old and faded like a worn out pair of jeans. What once was full of love and fun is bursting at the seems. We've patched them up and tried to mend the empty holey parts, but the threads to week to stay intack, for we have broken hearts. So we'll through away the old ones and try to find something new, but it will be hard to find somone I love as much as you.

My Mom

My Mom She is one of my favorite things....

In honor of All Moms on Mother's Day - Words filled with wisdom By Erma Bombeck

When the good Lord was creating mothers, He was into His sixth day of "overtime" when the angel appeared and said, "You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one."
And the Lord said, "Have you read the specs on this order? --
She has to be completely washable, but not plastic; Have 180 moveable parts . . . all replaceable; Run on black coffee and leftovers; Have a lap that disappears when she stands up; A kiss that can cure anything from a broken leg to a disappointed love affair; And six pairs of hands...
The angel shook her head slowly and said, "Six pairs of hands . . . no way."
"It's not the hands that are causing me problems," said the Lord. "It's the three pairs of eyes that mothers have to have."
"That's on the standard model?" asked the angel.
The Lord nodded.
"One pair that sees through closed doors when she asks, 'What are you kids doing in there?' when she already knows. Another here in the back of her head that sees what she shouldn't but what she has to know, and of course the ones here in front that can look at a child when he goofs up and say, 'I understand and I love you' without so much as uttering a word."
"Lord," said the angel, touching His sleeve gently, "Come to bed. Tomorrow . . ."
"I can't," said the Lord, "I'm so close to creating something so close to myself. Already I have one who heals herself when she is sick . . . can feed a family of six on one pound of hamburger . . . and can get a nine year-old to stand under a shower."
The angel circled the model of a mother very slowly. "It's too soft," she sighed.
"But tough!" said The Lord excitedly. "You cannot imagine what this mother can do or endure."
The angel asked, "Can it think?"
"Not only think, but it can reason and compromise," said The Creator.
Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek. "There's a leak," she pronounced. "I told You You were trying to put too much into this model."
"It's not a leak," said the Lord, "It's a tear."
"What's it for?" asked the angel.
"It's for joy, sadness, disappointment, pain, loneliness and pride," The Lord replied.
"You are a genius," said the angel.
The Lord looked somber.
"I didn't put it there," he said.
For mothers day my mom wanted Navajo Taco's.
Mom I love you and appreciate everything you have done and continue to do for me. I hope that when my children think about their mother they have the same love and respect for me that I have for you.

Happy Mothers Day!

Yes my Mom is one of my favorite things!

My First Favorite Thing

My first favorite thing has to be my family, because without them, I couldn't enjoy the rest of my favorite things. My goal will be to highlight each member on their own but the first post is all of them. We're the Brady Bunch type of group.
